My elderly mom fell, broke her back & was confined to bed for months. Before she left the hospital, she developed some red “hot spots” on her backside so I thought this would be worth a try once home. It was easy to install & inflate (and it’s definitely much easier than turning a loved one who’s in pain while trying to prevent skin sores because they’re constantly in bed). The pump was amazingly quiet & even though it did emit an audible noise (more like background noise/white noise which somehow seemed to comfort her), it was not as obvious as some of the noises she was subjected to while hospitalized. The constant air movement was soothing and she slept more comfortable than she did in the firm hospital bed. Her red spots never developed into sores & eventually faded away. The mattress is well made & easy to clean (especially when “accidents” occur). It functioned properly for mom and was as durable as necessary. No complaints here…. Especially since we already had too many at the hospital. :)

This inflatable bed is great for a variety of uses, from bedsores for people who are confined to the bed, to heat overload for hot sleepers, to general comfort for all shapes and sizes. Its also waterproof for anyone who might need that.I'm surprised at how relatively inexpensive this was as other inflatable mattresses of similar size are often more expensive and are imho not as good as this mattress is.The alternating pressure helps to keep this from having one side flatten out due to weight.The pump wasnt very bothersome but it was used during the daytime so I dont know how it would be at night when its very quiet or if a couple was using this, how much it'd affect the other. Its not terribly loud.

Highly recommend the pressure mattress for the elderly and those bedridden. Unfortunately, my grandmother recently became bed-ridden and was experiencing painful areas. This mattress does a good job of preventing her from getting sore from laying down. She immediately expressed it was much more comfortable, and the alternating air pressure helped her feel relief. She didn't require us to shift her around as much as without the sir mattress.

I purchased this for my 94-year-old father-in-law who has advanced dementia. He is pretty much bedridden at this point and I am always worried about pressure injuries. This mattress top helps alleviate my concern by gently rocking him. I check his skin daily and the areas that were red due to pressure from the mattress are no longer red. I think the noise from the pump acts as white noise and actually helps my father-in-law sleep. Either that or he is much more comfortable on this mattress topper. I like that we can adjust the softness/firmness to his liking. Everything was easy to set up and has been functioning very well.
