Rise Whey Protein Bars - Chocolatey Almond | Breakfast & Protein Snack (12 Pack)

I really like the taste of these, and almost find them addictive. They're a great source of quick protein. Given I'm slow to move in the morning I've frequently been having one for breakfast. I've tried several other protein bars. However, this one has quickly become my favorite. Like the fact that they're gluten-free, have good ingredients, and are filling. Many protein bars are rather mushy/soft-like in texture. I definitely prefer the more solid, yet easy to bite texture of these. The firmer texture makes them somehow feel more nutritious to me.

I picked up a few Rise bars out of curiosity the other day from the register line at REI the other day. The cashier immediately remarked that they were her favorite. I went home to try the Crunchy Carob Chip, and I instantly liked it. There are some things that I look for in Protein Energy bars: light package weight; The calories to package weight ratio (4.00+ is good); the protein to weight ratio(.25+ is good); non chocolate covering; non chalky tasting; This bar weighs in at 63g (2.23oz/.14lbs) - this is important to me for hiking purposes. Calories for this bar are 260 which is a ratio of 4.13 - i think it's important when your hiking to restore some of the calories you're losing, get you through the next signpost Protein to weight ratio is .27 - which is not the highest but fairly good. No chocolate covering. Smooth, almost buttery taste; not chalky! I like it a lot, but if you are concerned about sugars, this definitely is something to be concerned about the sugars are quite high here (13g) but at least there are no sugar alcohols. Also, the bar is fairly high in calories from fat and is 23% of your daily value. This might explain its buttery taste, but I am completely fine with it - it negates the chalky taste for me. Overall, I love this bar!

Straight forward ingredients, good texture compared to most protein bars, taste enjoyable (not over powering) and pack-along friendly packaging. Thanks for such a superior product. So many bars on the market are too close to junk food quality with sugar, too many additives and over-chewy texture. The only problem, and it Is big!, is that arrived outdated by a few months and were rock hard. This is the greatest challenge with Amazon products; they do not monitor outdates well. Same problem with some vitamins/supplements. Some things you just have to buy from a store (if you can even find them!), but can at least validate outdates. These protein bars arrived a bricks, but could not be determined with opening sealed outer box/container. Very frustrating.

While I wish these had a few less calories they have clean ingredients and taste great without chalkiness or weird artificial sweeteners. Flavor is excellent

These protein bars are delicious, satiating, and have a good consistency. They are my family’s favorite protein bars.

This is one of the most nutritious bars out there. Of course for anyone with health issues, I don't recommend bars at all, since they, by design, have too much sweetener in them. American society can't seem to purchase anything that isn't sweetened, or is it that American food industry won't make anything that isn't sweetened. The challenge even with the rise bar is that it is sweetened with Agave (and a bit too much). Depending on the source of agave (specifically how much the provider has processed it), agave "nector" could have been turned into High Fructose syrup. And, the rise bar doesn't need that much sweetener. I think they are trying to make it taste like a sni***** candy bar (to sweet). The rice already provides soe sweetness and perhaps some stevia or luo han guo extract would do well to give a nice taste. And, since such a minimal amount would be required, it might even make the manufacturing cheaper once they modified the lines. Who knows. I just wish that companies like this would lead nutrition trends a bit more aggressively. All the ingredients are nutritious, except the Agave (likely), by themselves, so start buying into the sweet-tooth brain-washing! The audience buying these bars are health-nuts - we don't want things to be crazy sweet. With a little modification, I'd buy it again. It was one of the only Carob bars on the market that I could find.

I have been seeking a good protein bar to use as a meal substitute or in conjunction with a workout that did not upset my stomach. I have found that soy and chicory root additives in other well-known products cause bloating, gas and stomach upset. I just about gave up on protein bars until I found this one. The taste is good. The texture is a little gritty but I will gladly give up some texture for a clean product that does not cause the aforementioned-problems. This bar keeps me full until the next main meal and does not give me the sugar high and then sudden drop that many products can unfortunately cause. It is a little pricey but well worth it. I highly recommend this product especially if you have digestive issues with other bars.

These bars are delicious! I put them in my husband’s lunch for work. The chocolate flavor is his favorite. He says they’re filling, give him the energy he needs, good for the budget compared to other brands, and perfect size for on the go. The best part is that it also has clean ingredients which is one thing I’m always looking for!

It’s a tough chewy bar. It will give your jaw a small workout. It’s tasty but the honey is slightly over powering. It’s also rather expensive and the bar. Has gotten slightly smaller when compared to a previous order. I will not order this product again.
