Mermaid Fishtail Petticoat Slip Full Shape Floor-Length Dress Gown Evening Party Black White S/M L XL

Upon opening the package it smelled awful! and whether you refer to it as a chemical or a fishy smell doesn't matter it stinks. However the shape and overall appearance of the product is very similar to at the advertised photo but still the advertised photo somehow looks better. I couldn't stand the smell that it created in my bathroom. But rather than package it for return I soaked in Bleach and Gain and then hand washed it and hang it to dry. I posted photos of the actual product that I received. It naturally looked better after I gave it to my attention because it had been previously balled up in a plastic bag to be mailed to me. My wedding gown is a mermaid style chiffon Mori Lee that doesn't need much help with poof so this will definitely work for me. I will post pictures of it in action after my dress returns from alterations or after my wedding.

Very fishy smell. I washed it in laundry detergent in my bathtub like an earlier review suggested. IT DID NOT WORK. I ran another tub of water with bleach an antibacterial soap and let it soak for about an hour. It dried quickly and the smell was almost completely gone. I let it air out for a few days then sprayed it down with febreeze. It was still not 100% odor free on my wedding day. It made my dress pop, but if you buy this, buy it early enough to beat it clean lol. I posted a pic of my wedding dress. It really did make it pop.

The skirt itself is ok. I'm 5'10" and a size 14. I ordered the l/xl and it fits perfectly.The waist material is soft but the lower half feels like a tent with dish scrubber tulle.The hoops are pretty serious, as well. They don't budge.All this is doable, except for the smell! Oh. My. Gosh. I opened this package and it smelled horrific. Gag inducing! The smell of fish from this skirt was unlike anything I've ever experiences before. It's Bad!If you do decide to purchase, make sure you give this thing time to de-funk.

I'm a seamstress, so maybe I'm going to be too critical of this petticoat. I bought it because I was in a time crunch and just needed something quick. After some alterations, it did do the trick, which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3 stars. But just be forewarned, it's pretty cheap and you really do get what you pay for. I didn't like the way the tulle looked under the fabric of my handmade gown, so I just removed the tulle layers altogether. The tulle they used was quite rough & stiff, so it was making my gown look odd and wrinkly. Also, I'm 5'8", and this petticoat was definitely too short for me by several inches. I figured out how to make it work, but just mentioning it. Lastly, I do really like that the hoops are strong metal. It holds out your skirt well and shows off that mermaid shape. It makes it easier to walk in a long dress, too.

The fishtail may not be as obvious once it's on, but the shape is great, I absolutely love it. As for quality I don't know yet, but you're probably only wearing it once anyway. Walking is waaaaaay easier with this petticoat since the front is a bit shorter and the hoops are flexible, and it really makes a huge difference overall. Purchased for my wedding and it worked great. I tried it on with my dress several times to make sure that I had it adjusted for the 'poofiness' level that I wanted. My dress was a fit and flair with most of the flair at the back train area- if you have a dress that should be full all over like a ball gown then this would be the wrong petticoat. This was comfortable and easy to adjust. Also helped me to not step on my dress.

I didn't find that this was too tight or not poofy like some reviews said. It fit exactly as the size chart indicated, so make sure you know your measurements before making any purchases (as you always should). It was super poofy - for what i used it for, I took the rings out because I only wanted a little bit of volume.

I'm tall-ish (5'9") so it was kind of high on me but it did what I needed it to do, hold my wedding dress out so that it didn't look flat on my wedding day. I struggled with whether to get this one (with the hoops) or one that was just layers of tulle. At the end of the day, I picked this one because I thought it would be easier to walk in, and it really was easy to move around in.
